Monte Gold is a full-featured reference platform based on Intel® IXP435 network processor with up to 667MHz core frequency that provides
ample performance headroom for next-generation network applications. It also comes with 4 PCI interfaces (2 PCI slots and 2 miniPCI slots).
These allow further extension of applications to have, for example: Gigabit network with Gigabit PCI interface card or Wireless network with
IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n miniPCI type III interface card. Monte Gold provides sufficient network ports and VoIP ports for various development
needs.

In addition to Monte Gold, the IXP435 network processor is positioned to enable both cost sensitive Gateways and Converged Access
Platforms (CAP). It can be applied in many occasions such as wireless residential gateways with network attached storage and print server
capability, security solutions providing VPN terminal, and complete VoIP solutions for SOHO.
